Pre and Postnuptial Agreements

Pre and Postnuptial Agreements

Both prenuptial and postnuptial agreements are designed to simplify the division of assets in divorce. Tripcony May provides both prenuptial and postnuptial services to clients in the state of Arkansas.

Prenuptial Agreements

Prenuptial agreements are contracts executed prior to the marriage. These contracts include details about the division of assets in the event of divorce, death of a spouse, or separation. These agreements may also cover spousal support, debt, and other issues.

Postnuptial Agreements

Postnuptial agreements are similar to prenuptial agreements in that they cover the division of assets, debt, spousal support, and related concerns in the event that the marriage ends. However, these agreements are drafted and signed after the marriage has already taken place. Spouses may choose to draft a postnuptial agreement to deal with assets brought into the marriage or to address new assets, such as an inheritance.
